Administrative Experience

Acting Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs (August 1990 June 1991) Responsibilities: Advise the Provost and Academic Vice President on a wide range of issues, including budget, faculty professional development, faculty evaluation, and academic program development; represent the university on the SSHE Faculty Professional Development Council; develop and administer summer school schedule, consult with deans and department chairs regarding courses to be offered, prepare and issue contracts for guaranteed and contingency courses; represent the university administration on the campus curriculum committee, review all proposals for curricular change and make recommendations to the provost and president; oversee and administer the Division of Academic Support Services (E.O.P./Act 101, Upward Bound, Student Support Services, and the Tutoring Center) evaluate departmental faculty, develop and oversee divisional budget. Oversee the Office of International Programs and supervise staff. Oversee the Honors Program.

Honors Program Director (January 1988 - December 1992) Responsibilities: Identify and recruit students into the university Honors Program, develop and manage the program budget, solicit proposals for honors courses and assist faculty in developing such proposals, identify appropriate scholarship support for honors students and make recommendations to the university foundation regarding the awarding of Honors Scholarships, oversee the preparations for the university honors convocation, provide academic advisement to honors students.
